Biggest Loser....ooohhhh....I only caught the last hour of the show, but man is Joelle on drugs, she is not getting it. She looks good anyway so I'm glad she's still working out.
I got my run in today. I was just setting out to do 2 miles but ended with 3.4miles so that is good, it was outside. I went to my usual quick run however it was really crusty, ice compacted so I decided to do a different route and used the mapmyrun website to figure it out when I got home.

I've been listening to Oprah's podcasts from a couple of weeks ago with Bob Greene and Dr. Oz., I'm really enjoying them. I love to learn about health, exercise and wellness. So if you're looking for something to listen to or watch check those out, they are free.
Things I've found interesting:
Bob said that for a woman to lose weight they have to exercise at least 30min a day for 5 days whereas a man only has to do 30min a day for 3 days a week. And more likely that woman have to exercise 45min a day. Just the way our hormones work.
He also said we need to increase our time and intensity working out as we lose weight because obviously the exercises we were doing 10lbs heavier won't give us the same results. This I knew and was dreading because before I got pregnant I lived at the gym. I knew after having my beautiful babies I just wouldn't be able to commit to that time ever again, well maybe when they are 18, lol. But this was something I was concerned about. I didn't exercise for my second pregnancy because of a higher risk. I tried to limit my exercise when I first joined WW because eventhough I was off for a year, I wanted to make sure the exercise I was doing was something I could still keep up with after returning to work. I think I've gotten that far which for me is a great thing.
I love Dr. Oz, he said by taking an omega 3 vitamin it helps us to deal with stress and coping as well as brain functioning, etc. this was something I had no clue about and I will be going to get some omega 3 for the whole family soon.
Well that's enough from me tonight, have a good one.

Yay for your run! 3.4 miles is incredible! Good for you!
45 minutes 5 days a week eh? That's a long time for someone with kids and outside committments - I guess it comes down to making yourself a priority! Sigh!
I know, I was bummed when he said this. Really who has the time for this, he suggested getting up earlier...yeah if my kids slept better, lol. In due time.
I'm going to look into the omega 3 as well! I have the same thoughts about exercise. With two kids, it is difficult to commit to an intensive program just because of time constraints (plus working full-time). I am trying to do what I can sustain and sleep (or lack thereof) makes a huge difference! I lost another 1.4 lbs at the scale this week, which puts me back to my pre-Christmas weight!
Keep up the good work! I find your menus inspiring.
Thanks M! You are doing fantastic!
