Me and 30,000 of my breast cancer fighting friends

6:55am-"Mommy why you taking a picture", 'oh because mommy's silly' and loves pictures in blogs so I thought you might want to admire the Detroit skyline as well.

Got to the run very early which is perfect for me, got a great parking spot, got to the washroom, walked around. So many things were going on and it was nice to see it a little empty beforehand. It was a beautiful morning with all the enthusiasm of survivors. It breaks my heart when I see on someone's back 'in memory of my mom'. I am so fortunate. I saw another mom who is a survivor, pushing a stroller like mine with her two little ones in it, that hits me hard, what strength all of these wonderful woman and men have.

Crowds and crowds of people. I think I was only able to run 1K because it was so very crowded. Bands were playing all along the route and I kept telling my lovelies that they are in a parade! If you can even see the light pink balloons in the middle towards the skyline, that was the halfway to the beginning point! Very far away.

Here they are being as good as they can waiting for the start. Sucking on some yogurt give-aways too. We love that :)

This was the team my girlfriend made up and her slogan, fantastic isn't it? Of course since I nursed for so long I certainly have big milk jugs :).

Walk is finished, faces are painted, eating candy at 10am, perfect morning!

Oh and of course the free cherry bagel from Panera bread everyone was able to get, love Panera bread. Whole foods was there too but I wasn't able to see their display. The many franchises I don't have the pleasure of getting here in this part of Canada.
It was a great experience and I'm sure I will be there again next year. We have another benefit BBQ to go to later today for my brother-in-laws best friend whom unfortunately passed away about 2mths ago leaving his young wife and 2 yr old daughter behind. So lots to be thankful for today and everyday.
Have a beautiful Saturday :)
