The last week was mini renovation time at our house. We got a beautiful new front door, went from the plain steel door to a great stainglass one. I'll have to post pics soon. Nonetheless it created a ton of dust on our main floor. My husband (Larry) vacuumed it up one night (yes he does vacuum, that's about it, must be the man and machine thing) and he decided we needed to paint the main living areas...yahoo! I've been bugging for this for about 3 years. Now this is a big job but not too bad for him as he used to paint houses, thus it takes him no time at all with no taping. So while we went to Home Depot to pick up some paint, we bought a new fridge, yahoo! Our current fridge is only 17 cubic feet, tiny tiny!
Definitely Merry Christmas to me, but all this last minute reno left my kitchen in chaos. My new fridge isn't coming for another week but I had to get a handle on the old one first. I honestly just buy things and throw it in the fridge hoping all the shit won't fall out. It was certainly boobie trapped for the past week and a half. Instead of heading to bed early I decided I better get my butt in gear and organize my kitchen. Sadly I had to throw out a lot of produce, disgusting. A head of broccoli, bok choy, mushrooms, pear. I was doing pretty good with not throwing my food away but when you can't see anything, I would just shut the door. Thank goodness I can see and hopefully when my new fridge comes I will have much more room. Do you find you throw out food?
Now my kitchen is clean, my lunch and Larry's lunch is ready to go, my coffee mug with tea is waiting to be made and although its almost midnight hopefully tomorrow when I get up I will be able to do some exercise instead of running around making my lunch. Fingers crossed I can keep this night time routine up.
