I was up visiting my mom this weekend and I was a little unsure as to whether I'd be able to get a run in. Friday we arrived and we helped with much needed yard work for a few hours and loving the warm temperatures! Than we headed in for some dinner. I put my girls into the tub and asked my mom if she minded if I went for a quick run (hubby stayed home). It was 7:30pm.
So how did I get in my fastest 5K? Well, it was 7:30pm and I didn't want to run in the dark...at all. Strange area, dark roads, drunken cottagers. So I was going at a great pace and thought wow I could make this a fast one. Than I realized I forgot to get the kids' pj's out and figured I better hustle it. I got to my last block and went fast to finish in 32mins! Which is my fastest ever and that is with a hillier than my normal flat run. So I was quite happy. I made it home and of course I had nothing to worry about, still some daylight and the girls were in their pj's.
The next morning I wanted to get a long run in but I was not feeling it. I assumed I was exhausted from my previous nights run. It was only 12hrs between the 2. But I still did a decent time 7.4K in 55min. Not too bad.
Tomorrow I'm planning a long run, I hope I can survive it! I realized that one of my runs I was doing was actually 12K and not 10K so I've been misrecording that run. No wonder it felt like forever! I'm certain I can do a half now, I just need to keep my training up.
That is all from me, my girls were very spoiled by the Easter Bunny as he visited 5 different houses for them! Good Grief Charlie Brown, I've got oodles of chocolate and marshmellowy things hanging around now.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and were able to enjoy all things around them!

Woohoo Sarah, WTG on the running!
Congratulations on the new time-to-beat! We got back from South Carolina Sunday morning to discover that the Easter Bunny (aka Grampa) had left John a basket on the front porch. Luckily (for me, of course) it had very little candy and was mostly toys ... as was the one the Easter Bunny left inside the house just before we took off Wednesday night so he would get it when we came home.
Gosh I'm glad there isn't another major candy holiday any time soon!
Congrats on both of those runs Speedy! :)
Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend and your girls made out quite well too.
Wow, those are some awesome times!
I am uncertain that I can do a half, but I signed up for one anyway! Aaaaahhhhhh!!!
Great job on running while you're away, and way to go on the awesome time!
