I know to some this may seem long, to others it may seem like a regular run. But for me this was my longest run I've done ever. I'm not going to lie, the last 6km were brutal for me and I had to stick to it and finish.
My before picture: Happy to start, beautiful day today, is it June?? for real its only April 3 and this warm??? No after pictures as I was happy to finish but not this happy, lol!
I started my run and felt good, I had my running tights on and somehow I feel they make me go faster. Notice I have no ipod, headphones, yep I ran sans musique. I got to the 10km mark, it took exactly 1hr and 10min, which I thought was pretty good for me. Than I turned...into a slight breeze and it was really hard to push through. About 30min into my run I popped some jelly beans electrolytes in, than I did it again at 10km mark. I'm not sure if these help or not, I only took 3 at a time, it didn't bother my stomach and I like the texture better than Gu. I took a couple more at the 13km mark, where I got to turn and only have the wind on my side, what a difference. I just kept telling myself that I was almost there. I made it! I know its only 16km but man I think I'll cry when I do a 1/2. It took me 1hr and 56min 40sec.
This is not easy, I talk to myself a lot. I love that about running, I plan things...dinner, day, cleaning, activities, motivate. I just repeat it to myself over and over and than my run is done.
So there it is, it was good than brutal than good again.
