Last night my planned after work workout did not happen as my youngest had a terrible nightmare with a fever. So she ended up in our bed with hubby on the couch. This morning she was up early but still with a fever and soon after got sick to her stomach. She's doing alright now. I had planned a run with both girls this morning since its finally nice/normal out. It has been far too hot to take them out in the stroller the last few weeks, but those plans changed once my youngest was sick. I could have easily stayed home and told myself that I didn't sleep well and I would get to it tomorrow, but so many times that happens and I don't get a run in for a week. I set out on my own for a run before my husband had to leave for work. In the end it worked out just fine and little daughter has been feeling better thus far. I did an 8km run and it felt good.
The book that I've stalled at reading is called Run like a Mother, link to the blog as well. When I read this book I feel like there are other crazy, sleep deprived people out there that run much farther than I do and this inspires me. Whenever I finish this book I'll review better but I find this is a great book for other moms or runners to pick up. No programs in this book but lots of tips.

I'm a HUGE shopping freak, I LOVE Costco. Last week I bought a large bag of apples. They were not good apples however, so not to waste it all I decided to make applesauce. I never realized how easy this is! I filled a large pot with the apples and added 1 cup of water and 1/4 cup of agave syrup. I cooked the apples on the stove for about 15min, than transferred into a blender. I did 3 batches regular applesauce, I added cinnamon, strawberry applesauce: adding a container of strawberries, blueberry applesauce: adding a pint of blueberries. A healthy snack, especially for the girls.
Menu:
pre workout: 1/2 pear 1 and almond butter 3
breakfast: oatmeal 2, blueberries 0, almond milk 2
lunch: egg 2, shredded cheese 2, ezkiel english muffin 2, salsa
snack: coffee 2
dinner: spaghetti squash 0, portabella mushrooms 0, 1/4 cup sauce 1
snack: hard boiled egg 2, blueberry applesauce 1
Total 20 (haven't fully made lunch for work yet)
This is my all time favourite sauce, (another Costco find), if I were Italian than I'd make my own but I don't have a clue on how to do those sauce making days. But for me this is pretty darn yummy, no chemicals, only things we know.

You can also add honey to your applesauce! That's how I make it. I lived off of it when I had my wisdom teeth out a few years ago. Mmmmmm applesauce! Now my baby gets it weekly with cream of wheat mixed in. Yum!
