My long run

This morning I had my long run, 12K. I was a little nervous because I only ran one other time this week a 5K hill run. I am still working hard with those Insanity workouts. I started the run and our sidewalks were covered in black ice. I was going to turn around and go to the gym and run the treadmill, but I remembered that my ipod is dead and the dreadmill with no music is not happening. So I hit the road for a bit. It wasn't too bad, only one car tried to run me off and some of the sidewalks were ok. All in all my run was fantastic, I ran the whole time and felt great.

Last week I didn't eat breakfast before heading out and I did not have a good run. This week I had 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 banana, 1/4 cup kashi go lean and some milk. It worked out to be a great combo. Sorry for tmi but I usually have to go to the washroom 1/2 way through my run and can barely make it home but today was good. So I think I'll stick to this combo before my morning runs.

Great job on your run! I find if I miss some runs one week, then it's ok... as long as I don't consistently miss runs. If I start doing that, then my running suffers... and of course, chance of injury skyrockets.

Sounds like a great run! I cant wait until I can run that far :o)

As for the tmi, I hear you and I only just started running on the dreadmill...nothing worse than needing to go when your in the middle of a run!

how long before your run do you eat? trying to figure the eating before running thing myself.
