My friend joined WW a few weeks ago, she only needs to lose 12lbs for herself, I think about 20lbs to meet WW's goal. Not a lot but those are the hardest ones to lose.
My friend is also a fitness instructor so how did she gain the weight? She's been doing the exact same routine for over a year, same classes on the same days, etc. Nothing new. She's been eating the exact same things for many years: oatmeal, milk for breakfast, coffee, salad for lunch, than lean meat and rice, etc. Her menu doesn't sound bad, I know she is strict on fruit and sweets because her daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 4yrs. So she joined WW to learn why she gained and of course to lose it. Her first week she gained 1lb, her second week she gained 1lb. By this time she was very frustrated and met with her leader whom looked at her journal. They determined that she needs to add more protein and to mix it up a bit. The following week she had eggs for breakfast instead and a few other changes, this lead to a 2.5lbs loss. She was very happy and didn't realize how changing things up had such an impact. She is also starting to teach on different days, different classes. I'm sure within a few weeks she will be real close to her goal.
So this made me think about my menu, I try to have the same things because #1 its easy that way. You see I really don't like to have to think about food, I always have something different for dinner and find it a struggle to choose what we are to eat. So breakfast especially has been the same for over a year, oatmeal. This week I'm going to try other things for breakfast, as much as I love my oatmeal. This morning I had a WW bagel and I found (1pt) WW cream cheese! on my shopping trip to the States. I tell you I was famished by 11am, however if I would have planned properly a banana at 11am would have been perfect. So not too bad and the cream cheese was great. The bagel and cream cheese is the same amount of points as my good old oatmeal and milk. I'm sure it will show on the scale this week.
