Running Skirts

I am not lucky to have nice leg genes in my family but I still love the idea of running skirts. I think they are adorable and forgiving to wider hipped girly runners. A capri running skirt is perfect for me.

I have found 2 companies (there are others) that make a capri running skirt. I ordered my first running capri last year from skirt sports. It was a black capri and looked really sleek. I went to this company after reading 'Run like a Mother' where they said this was their favourite style. These ended up being the most expensive pair of workout clothing I've ever purchased. Since the company is American, brokerage fees applied but did not say in my checkout from the store. The item itself was pricey on its own. Once delivered to my house I had to pay an additional $60 in duty/brokerage fees! I was not happy, especially after I tried them on. The material is like unstretchy mesh. They were not comfortable at all and as much as I wanted to love these, they look nice enough but are not comfy.

Then recently I saw another blogger bought some running skirts on sale from...Running skirts. I decided to check it out. I've visited the website many times but didn't buy anything because I didn't want to pay extra again. Good news this site has a Canada section and a Canada Outlet!!! They did have a running capri on sale after Christmas under the colour fleur. There wasn't a picture but I thought I'd try this capri for the price it wasn't too bad. When I got it...its a little flashy but super comfy. The material is like bathing suit material and is stretchy to fit well everywhere. I'm a 14 and ordered a size 4 (14). There are little pockets on either side of the skirt with a small velcro closure. It is one piece and the waist comes up to my bellybutton but I'm sure you can fold it over 1X for a lower fit. I'm very happy with this skirt although I wish the capri part was black but no one will miss me that is for sure, lol!

If you ever thought to try a running skirt out, they are now on sale for $20.11!! If you can get your size and a cool colour this is a great chance to try one. I will be picking up an actual skirt probably in navy. My choice would be the 'athelic skirt' as its 1inch longer and has running bike shorts under. The other style is the 'running skirt' which has an underwear type bottom.

I'm only promoting because I think this is a great deal, running skirts has not contacted me for this review. Anyway, just sharing.

Today I ran 5km in the morning, had a Bodystep practice at noon and I just did some p90X chest and back. Oh I wish I had this energy every day. I find I run out by Wednesday. How do you keep your energy up all week? I work until midnight this week, so go to sleep around 1-1:30am and get up at 7:15am. Any tips?
