And I joined too!

There has been lots of buzz over the new Weight Watcher plan and for myself I believe it was at the perfect time.

In the summer I tried something crazy and drastic, I went on a low-carb bootcamp. It was extremely difficult but I did lose about 8lbs and kept it off until...Halloween....where I ate most of my kids good chocolate. I put on 5lbs that week alone, then I took my trip where I actually only gained 3lbs (lost a few before going) so essentially remained around 187lbs. Then I returned, worked out and thought I was eating better, gained 3 more lbs?? So obviously things were not working. The low-carb thing was not working anymore. I got used to it, but being a foodie, it was hard not to try different recipes. Then the buzz of Weight Watchers was changing their program came out, I started reading blogs about it and I thought 'wow this is PERFECT timing!'

I liked WW, it worked pretty well but I think your body gets used to things and it definitely needs a change. I followed the last time for 2 1/2 years and was stuck within the same 5lbs for a whole year. I was pissed and frustrated, so I quit and I really didn't gain weight after I left. I'm still floating in the same 5lbs. I believe my body has decided its happy here...and...I'm not. So I needed this new program to change it up and fingers crossed change my body's set point of 188lbs.

I went to my regular meeting, (I left in March), where there were still familiar faces. I was hoping to see my leader but she wasn't there and I hope she was just on vacation because I like her a lot. And I started going to her before my oldest daughter was born. Anyway, listened to the leader describe different things about the new program and looked at all my new stuff (it is a lot of new stuff!) and hope this will work for me. The only thing I find will be hard is how I used to just guesstimate points. If it was 100cal  it was usually 2pts., not the case anymore. Not that I ate many things that were processed but things like bread, ice cream, granola bars...things that I could look at while shopping and say 3pts...not worth it. This will be the challenge.

So I'm excited to get to my reading, plan my food for the week and watch my belly deflate!
Off I go, have a great Sunday!

I am thinking of joining this week, too! I have three weeks to find my enthusiasm and spark. Maybe we can encourage each other to stay on track (=

I am so excited about the new plan - 2 weeks later I finally sat down and read it all next week. I agree with you about not being able to guesstimate. But I think this new plan will do my body good.

My husband told me if I joined then he wouldn't cook for me anymore! HAHA. His ex apparently went a little crazy obsessive while on WW, but that was years and years before I met my husband. lol
