Can you change your bodyshape?

When I got pregnant with my second baby, I exercised for about the first 5mths than I stopped. My first baby was premature so I really needed to back off and protect my new baby. A benefit that was in the back of my mind was although I'm gaining this weight, I'm really giving my body a complete break from exercise and perhaps this break will allow me to rebuild my shape.

I've exercised my whole life. I was a not-so-good figure skater who worked my butt off. I skated till I was 19, 4-5 days a week. Than from there I jumped into the gym, after breaking my ankle doing a Bodystep class I decided that I was going to challenge myself and come back even stronger. I took the Bodystep training, before I was certified I took the BodyCombat training as well. Way back than for Combat, it was a 2 weekend training course. Low and behold on the weekend in between I broke my ankle again! Doing Bodystep again! But this was not going to get me down, I continued on and finally got certified in step after 6mths. And unfortunately it would be a few years before I got certified in Combat. Yet, I never stopped. I practiced all the time, in my living room with my walking boot on there I was pushing weights and doing my new step releases. I was addicted.

I was the heavier fit person, always having a little more junk in the trunk and hips.

So with my hiatus from pregnancy I thought maybe I can change this. I would basically be coming back to exercise as a sedetary person, which is something that I have never been. I took up running. Obviously its been successful, I'm not the fastest but I'm doing it. Has my body changed? Of course 2 babies in 2 years will do that, weight, jiggly where you don't want, but the one thing I love now is my legs. Still need lots to lose (50lbs) but my legs are pretty darn small for the weight I'm at now. Of course I wish my tummy was flat as well but my whole life I wanted small legs and I think once I hit goal I might just get them. We will soon find out.

****So I added a recent picture (tonight after the gym) and its funny how I always think I look smaller than I actually am, aww well. I've think I've changed a lot in just 17 lbs though (from my first picture)****
