This weekend Dragonboats for a Cure was held in my town, it is a huge event bringing in thousands of people. I love events like this to take my daughters to. To show them different things and to try to teach them about helping others, explaining about people who are sick and need us to help them, so they can learn compassion and empathy for others.
Though we didn't actually see him race my lovely hubby did race today. There were about 3000 racers today. It is such a cool event to obviously be in but also to watch.
There is a very touching rose ceremony as well.
We did crafts for the kids. They painted oars that would form a giant pink ribbon.
There was some yummy, gigantic, chocolate frozen yogurt. I love this event because I see soo many people I know, its great to see old high school friends, gym members and just people you haven't seen in a while. All there for one thing, to conquer cancer.
And after a few hours in 30C temps we headed home. Yes I ran them there and back for a 6km run. Yes I had pink balloons on the way home (and they made it!), yes cheated and I let my little daughter watch a DVD most of the time but we made it and she was friendly to most people, lol!
And we are all healthy now! No sleeping all day and me thinking only the worst, she is back to herself again!

I wish we had stuff like this that I could take John to! They only times they do they do them so far out of my way that I couldn't possibly get him there easily (me not driving and all limits a LOT). You sure do have lucky girls to have such awesome caring folks!
