I'm not a huge fan of pies but I certainly love apple crisp and after having all my fresh apples of course we enjoyed some...well myself and husband as the kids didn't care for it. I like lots of crisp so I make a double batch of it.
Apple Nut Crisp
5 cups of apples
1/4 cup water
2tsp of lemon juice
1 cup of flour
1 cup of rolled oats
1 cup of brown sugar
3/4 tsp of nutmeg
1tbsp cinnamon
1/2 cup softened butter
1 cup roasted pecans
1. Preheat oven 350F (175C)
2. Toss apples, water and lemon juice and put in shallow dish
3. In a bowl combine all other ingredients, mix. Add butter in (I smoosh the butter in to make the mixture like cookie'ish' kind of dough)
4. Crumble over top of apples
5. Bake for 40-45min
Eat it warm!
I didn't peel my apples and I think it tastes just fine that way, my husband prefers the apples peeled.

I had to catch my drool...lol!
I love Apple Crisp with vanilla or butterscotch ice cream. Yummy! and it has to have the double topping for me too.
Now I think I may have to make some for supper. Hmmm.
Wowza, that sounds delicious!
Looks great, I absolutely love apple crumble!
