I usually need some type of focus to get me running, otherwise I just run 6km and that is about it...give or take 2km. With nothing to focus on I never increase 1. km's or 2. time running. I used to go to runner's world to get some training programs. You type in how fast you did your last 5km and it would give you a plan to train on. On the weekend I popped over only to realize you now have to pay for this!!! Crazy! $25 for a running plan. So I started looking for other half marathon running plans and there are many that require you to pay for. Wow, where have I been. I did end up finding a great plan for me through Jeff Galloway. I think this will work well for my schedule and other commitments I have.
Has anyone found other good free half or 10k training plans? I was just so surprised to see something that used to be free has to be paid for now.
Did a Bodystep class this morning and will teach Bodypump tonight. Staying on course. What are you doing today to exercise?

Hey Sarah! Long time not comment! I don't know of free sites with half training things but I have a book that has a bunch in the back. Let me know if you want me to scan them and email them to you. I have "Advanced Marathoning" 2nd edition by Pete Pfitzinger and Scott Douglas. The plans in the back are based on time to race and distance in a week. The lowest is <55 miles/week in 18 weeks. These are marathon training so you'd have to cut them in half but you've got lots of time to play with them. Just let me know if you're like them. You could also do what I did and sit on the floor at chapters and flip through the running books and pick 1 you like with training in it and buy that one. :)
Cheers!
Hal Higdon. Google his name. Very comprehensive.
